How I keep my hair fresh for 7 days

This post is sponsored by Pantene. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I try and go as long as I can between hair washes, because, let’s be real, washing you hair is a pain. Especially if you have long hair or extensions like me! I have a few tricks and tips that I do to keep my hair looking fresh! I wash my hair every 6-7 days and these 5 things have made a huge difference in the way my hair looks between washes!

1. Sleep With a Silk Pillowcase

Ever since buying a silk pillowcase, my hair has stayed styled tangle-free longer! The silk fibers provides less friction than traditional cotton on your hair, thus keeping is smooth and silky longer! Silk pillowcases are also great for your skin and absorb less of your face moisturizer, so your skin stays hydrated!

Just beware of pillowcases that say they are silk but are not 100% pure silk. I love my Slip Silk Pillowcase, but I also have this one from Amazon that is pretty good for the price!

2. Braid your hair when you workout/sweat

For the past few years, I have been doing pigtails braids when I work out. My stylist once told me that it is better for your hair than a high pony. The ponytail can cause breakage, especially while working out when jumping or running is involved, since your hair in the ponytail will move around a lot and can break off at the elastic.
Braids also don’t pull your hair as tight to your scalp and can let some airflow to the sweat on your head. if your hair gets sweaty and is pulled back in a ponytail, it will want to stay that way after. I find braids keep volume in my hair longer, especially if I take the braids out right after I’m done working out and “fluff” up my hair a bit.

3. Dry Shampoo Foam

By day 3 I definitely am in need of some dry shampoo, especially if I have worked out! I have been using the new Pantene Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam, and it has been great for getting rid of excess oil on my roots and providing me with some volume! I also love using it after spending a day outside by the pool! No water is needed to freshen up your hair with this nourishing, non-drying formula.

To use, I dispense a little foam into my fingers and work through the roots of my hair in sections. It might feel a little damp but dries quickly. And if you have extra time, you can use a round brush and hairdryer on your roots right after the Dry Shampoo Foam is applied, for even more volume!

4. Dry Conditioner Mist

By about day 4-5, my hair is feeling a little dry on the ends. I love using the Pantene Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner Mist to nourish and de-frizz my hair! has been a great addition to my ends. You just hold the can 6-8inches away from your hair and spray from mid-length to the ends! My hair feels so much better and resists humidity and frizz! I even notice a difference the next day- my hair still seemed soft and hydrated! The best part is the entire Pantene Waterless Collection is free of sulfates and parabens!

5. Don’t wear tight hats

I know some people love to rock a hat if their hair hasn’t been washed for a few days, but I try to stay away from them if not needed. The hats flatten my hair and it’s harder to revive my hair; I end up washing it sooner than needed. If you use my two tips above (especially taking a hairdryer to your roots after the Dry Shampoo Foam), your hair will look fresh! No hat needed!

Hope these tips were helpful! That you to Pantene for sponsoring this post! Make sure you pick up the new Pantene Waterless collection online at HEB!
