Whitney (@whitswhims) and I came back from an amazing trip to Belize, and I want to share with you where we stayed! The resort is Laru Beya and it is located right on the ocean where you can view beautiful sunrises and lounge all day by the pool right on the beach.

Our Suite

Our suite was massive with a kitchen, sitting area, and balcony overlooking the ocean. They also had plenty of storage space for us to keep our clothes and shoes (because we all know, Whitney and I don’t travel light!). Plus they provide a safe for valuables, and also a hairdryer (very important for us!). The bed was King size and sooo comfortable. I slept like a baby and the linens were buttery soft! We loved getting into bed at night!!

I also love that the suite has a full kitchen and you can make your own meals, or just store snacks and drinks! I think a lot of people spend weeks at a time here, so this is a great way to save money if you are here for an extended time!

Restaurant

Laru Beya Resort offers an all inclusive package that includes your meals and drinks, or you can just purchase everything a la carte. We ate most of our meals at the Quarterdeck restaurant on site and it was amazing! I don’t think there was one thing that wasn’t good, plus they have a new special every day! The whole staff at Quarterdeck was so friendly and took such good care of us!

 

Getting Around

The Resort is locate about 10 minutes from the little town of Placencia, which has restaurants, bars, and stores. We frequently rented a golf cart from Laru Beya to zip into town to hit up a bar, or restaurant. Golf carts rented from Laru Beya are $35/4hrs, $50/8hrs, or $75 for a full day. They also have bikes that you can borrow for free. One day we biked into Placencia, and it took about 30 minutes each way (note that there are no gears on the bikes).

Extras

Laru Beya also provides tours and will book one for you upon request! We went on the Monkey River tour and it was so cool! This is a great tour for all ages, and brings you into the jungle to see moneys and other animals! We even saw an alligator!

Laru Beya also has a mini-golf course on site that guests are welcome to use!

We ran out of time, but there are kayaks and catamarans that you can borrow to take out on the water. In the afternoons the water was getting a little rougher, so we weren’t able to take them out.
