Jon and I had the privilege of touring a bunch of they Disney Resorts a couple weeks ago, and it was so cool to see them all! I have never stayed at a Disney resort before this trip, so it was extremely special for me. I love Disney and the magic that you feel when you are on the properties or in the parks. I never visited as a child, but as an adult, it is an incredible experience and I want to go back every year!!
Where We stayed
Animal Kingdom Lodge
I was so giddy when we checked into our room at Animal Kingdom Lodge! Our balcony overlooked the savanna where we could see giraffes, zebras, and other animal right from our balcony!! It was truly amazing and so fun!! An experience I have never had before!!
They also do safari tours around the Savanna, which we were lucky to take part in. We saw a whole bunch of animals, and were able to get up super close to them!
Dinner was at Jiko restaurant and an equally amazing experience. The food was so yummy and the atmosphere stunning.
Four Amazing Resorts (other than Animal Kingdom Lodge)
We toured quite a few resorts, but these were a few of my favorites! No matter where you stay though, you will have an amazing time! Disney is just an amazing place to visit!
Yacht Club
The rooms here were fabulous, but grounds of the Yacht Club were even more gorgeous! I mean, I couldn’t get enough of this view. Everything just looks so perfect!! They also have some massive suites that can accommodate families! We also had brunch here and had the most amazing chocolate waffles!!
Polynesian Village Resort
Ok Polynesian Village Resort hotel was fabulous! I loved it because it reminded me of my tropical vacations to Hawaii! The tropical palms and lush vegetation will transport you to a whole other world and you will feel like you are in a tropical paradise. And if you really want to splurge, look into one of the over-water bungalows for a unique experience with a price dipping pool on the deck!
Wilderness Lodge
Wilderness Lodge is such a cool resort and reminded me of the rustic mountains in my home country Canada. Everything is inspired by turn-of-the-century National Park lodges and the detail and though into the craftsmanship is beautiful! You can spend time walking through the trails in the wilderness, or sitting by the peaceful creeks.
Art of Animation Resort
It was so fun to walk around Art Of Animation Resort because of all the characters form my favorite Disney movies! The rooms are also themed and you can choose from Lion King, Nemo, Cars, and The Little Mermaid! It is a kids dream – plus even cool for the adults.
Noteworthy Restaurants and Activities
Jiko The Cooking Place Restaurant (Located in Animal Kingdom Lodge)
This was located in our hotel, so after our safari, we went to dinner here! I had a perfectly cooked fillet mignon, and all the wines are from Africa! They have a very extensive list!
Sebastians Bistro (Located at Caribbean Beach Resort)
This Bistro was so yummy and I loved the decor. It was fresh and clean, with great cocktails!!
Ralph Breaks the Internet Virtual Reality (Located in Disney Springs)
This was the coolest activity/experience. Its a virtual reality game where you are suited up and walk around as if you are in the game! It is so trippy, yet amazing at the same time! I definitely recommend this! It’s not in the parks, so you can just go to it at Disney Springs at any time!
Frozen Dessert Party and Fireworks (Located in Epcot- Park Admission not included)
I loved this experience! It was so cute to see all the Frozen themed desserts and drinks, and the firework show after was magical! They give you these 3D glasses that make the fireworks look like snowflakes!! Whaattt??
Disney After Hours
We attend both Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom after regular operating hours and it was amazing!! There were no lines and we rode every ride we wanted! They only let a certain amount of people in the park during “After Hours”, so there will never be huge lines for the rides! Definitely the best way to ride all the rides quickly!
Storybook Dining with Snow White (Located at Wilderness Lodge)
We didn’t get to have the full dinner experience, but we sampled the food and desserts! Let me tell you, the desserts were to die for! They are Snow White themed, so not only tasted amazing, but were so fun! During the regular dining, you get to meet Snow White, the dwarfs, and even the Queen! Would be such a fun experience!
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue (located at the campsites in Disney Fort Wilderness Resort)
This was so cute and is a perfect family dinner experience. You get a family style dinner interspersed throughout a musical show with high energy and fun characters. The strawberry shortcakes is amazing!!! You can also visit all the horses in the stables at Disney Fort Wilderness! They are the horses that pull carriages and are part off the shows!
Sweater (wearing the Medium) // Shorts// Shoes// Sunnies
Thank you to Disney for hosting Jon and I on this trip! It was really eye opening as to how much Disney offers for everyone, no matter what kind of trip you are looking for! We will be back soon!
