Glytone Professional Facial Peel

I recently went for my first facial peel from Glytone and I am loving the results! My skin feels smoother and pores tighter. This is actually my first ever peel, so I was excited to give it a try! I went for an in-office peel at Vitae Med Spa with the professional line by Glytone- you can see the professional peels here. The procedure

This is a super quick procedure and was able to go about my regular day! I wasn’t able to afford a lot of downtime, so I asked her to do a more mild peel. She used the Mandelic Acid 40 peel so I wouldn’t have too many visible effects over the coming days. Downtime will depend on what type of peel you get and also your skin. The peel administer will be able to determine what peel will be best for you.

The whole procedure was maybe 12 minutes. She cleansed my skin, and then did the first pass with the solution. Then she went for another pass of the solution and let it sit for 5-6 minutes. Next she neutralized the solution on my face and I was good to go!

After Effects

The next day I started to notice my skin feel a little dry around my chin area. That continued for a few more days after, and I had a few itchy bumps appear. Those lasted about a day before disappearing. The dry patched lasted on my chin about 4 days, but there was no noticeable flaking of the skin and I could wear makeup no problem the day after the treatment! These peels are different than traditional chemical peels because they work under the skin, so you don’t get the skin sloughing off with a traditional peel.

In the end, my skin feels smooth and refreshed with minimal side effects. I definitely recommend a Glytone peel because it can be customized for your skin and there is minimal downtime in comparison to a traditional Chemical peel!
