Omni Resort and Spa Scottsdale
An Oasis
When visiting the desert one must look for an oasis and I found this at the Omni Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Montelucia! This Mother’s day I asked my mom if she wanted to meet in Phoenix (she lives in Canada and I live in the US so its a perfect compromise) for a quick sunny holiday getaway!
Naturally we wanted to spend a little time being pampered so I signed us both up for a spa day at the Joya Spa at the Omni Resort and Spa for an extraordinary day of relaxing and restoration. Its the perfect place to pamper and spoil a loved one!
Moroccan Inspired
Once you step through the large Moroccan-style door you are greeted by a Joya Journey Coordinator who takes you on just that! We were led up a grand ornate staircase and began the journey at the Joy of Intention room where you stop for a moment, select a healing stone and consider the relaxing day ahead. With the dim lighting and muted sounds you begin to feel the outside world melt away. Next we journeyed to the room of Purification with a stunning 55lb quart crystal on display radiating multiple color lights. Here you were given the opportunity to place your hands on the crystal to release any negative energy and tension. Continuing on we arrived at the Ladies Social lounge where we found a locker for our things, donned a fluffy robe and waited for our treatments.
The Massage
I booked mom and I each for a Classic Massage and my massage room ended up being a suite perfect for couples who want to get their treatments together and then relax in the same room in the giant moroccan-inspired 4 poster bed with doors opening onto the rooftop pool deck!
After our massages we compared notes, and my Mom said it was one of the best massages she had ever experienced! I had to agree, as the attention and expertise in this massage wasn’t anything I had experienced either. And, of course, who wouldn’t love the scented oils they used-I chose Lavender while my mom picked Eucalyptus.

Pool Relaxation
After a quick stop at the exquisitely tiled heated bench, we changed into our swimsuits and headed to the Joya Terrace to grab a lounge chair. We took in the views of Camelback mountain, spectacular hotel grounds and spent the rest of our afternoon there. We sipped refreshing watermelon cocktails, enjoyed our delicious lunch, and took several dips in the pool. Had to be one of the most relaxing days I’ve had in a long time, and I couldn’t have asked for better company during this Mothers Day experience!
We ended our day at the Crave Cafe for a cool, refreshing Gelato – we both picked expresso brownie in true Mother-Daughter fashion.
We will definitely be returning on out next trip to Phoenix and I can’t wait to experience this wonderful Spa again!
